Get the ABC Legal connected app for Litify!

At ABC Legal, we’re always looking for ways to optimize service of process. This month, we’re excited about our new integration with Litify and will be continuing our launch with the next part of the introductory series. Today, we’re talking about what to expect with the app - and how to get started. On the blog, we’ll be sharing a 3-part introduction to Litify to kick things off.

  1. Service of Process For Litify

  2. The ABC Legal App for Litify: How it Works

  3. Litify, A Case Management System

Join us for a 20-minute presentation on June 27th where we'll discuss the integration with Litify and the fastest way to get you started with the ABC Legal app!

What is Litify?

Litify is an end-to-end solution for legal professionals, built on top of Salesforce. The platform allows law firms to manage their cases, clients, billing, and more from a single, secure platform. With cloud-based access, Litify increases the access and accessibility of legal software for legal teams. Their goal is to improve business outcomes for legal professionals and by extension, their clients. Litify gives legal teams all the tools they need to run their firm like a high-powered business.

Why Add The ABC Legal App To Litify?

The ABC Legal app extends the capability of Litify by allowing users to place orders for service of process for any case in Litify. For Litify users, this means that for most Matters, service of process can be managed without leaving Litify. Information and documents from service of process are associated with the Matter by API, meaning less data entry is required by the team to keep records aligned across systems.

Overall, it means less time spent on data entry and more time for your clients.

How Does the Integration Work?

Adding the ABC Legal app is easy, but will require us to get in touch with the system administrator for your account. An OAuth process connects your Litify instance to your secure online account with ABC Legal, allowing data to pass between the two using a custom API connection. Once connected, the app allows you to order for service of process for your Matters. Once the order is placed ABC Legal will update your Matter with relevant Documents and Case Activities to ensure everything you need related to service of process for your case lives in Litify Matters.

Placing An Order

You can place an order for service of process from Litify or ABC Legal and associate it with any existing Matter. Navigate to a Matter. Ensure that you have a Role prepared for the party to be served as well as the documents to be served available in Docrio.

On the Matter, select “Order Service of Process”. Tell us the priority - how quickly you need attempts. Select files from Docrio associated with the Matter, the party to be served from associated Roles, and the address of your choice. You can also specify a new address or request for us to perform an automatic skip trace against the party to be served - and attempt service at the best-known address.

Synced Information

Once you place your order, you’ll see updates on the Service of Process record under Case Activities at key points as service of process progresses. Activities include:

  • Order placed
  • Invoice available
  • Documents dispatched
  • Attempts
  • Service
  • Proof of service available
  • Action needed

These notes will help you see just how close your documents are to being delivered and how ready your case is for the next step.

Documents

After you place your order, files associated with your Matter will be available in your Docrio Documents including a PDF copy of your invoice and the proof or return of service, once service of process is complete.
