LAS VEGAS — Morgan & Morgan founder John Morgan publicly credited ABC Legal during Grow or Die, the inaugural conference held June 9–10 in Las Vegas.
The event marked the first and only time Morgan has publicly shared the operational strategies behind Morgan & Morgan’s growth into the nation's largest personal injury law firm. During his presentation, he highlighted ABC Legal as one of the partners that helped the firm execute some of its most demanding litigation matters, including two extraordinary filing efforts prompted by tort reform deadlines.
Grow or Die brought together plaintiffs' attorneys from across the country to hear Morgan discuss the systems, leadership principles, and operational decisions that fueled his firm’s growth. Among the examples he shared were two extraordinary filing efforts driven by tort reform legislation and the operational challenges that followed.
In Florida, a new law was set to apply to any case not yet filed, giving Morgan & Morgan a three-day window to file approximately 25,000 lawsuits before hundreds of millions of dollars in claims would fall under its scope. According to Morgan, the firm filed all 25,000 lawsuits, and ABC Legal served every one of them within that same three-day window.
The following year, the firm faced a similar deadline in Georgia, with approximately 2,000 cases requiring service before new legislation took effect. Morgan said ABC Legal once again delivered under the compressed timeline.
Morgan described the partnership to the Grow or Die audience:
Not only are they our sponsor, they’re people we believe in—in a big, big, big way. And the reason that we believe in them in such a big, big way is they have done some big, big things for us.
– John Morgan, founder of Morgan & Morgan
He closed with a line adapted from an old FedEx tagline: "When it absolutely, positively has to be done yesterday, we recommend ABC Legal."
Morgan’s remarks underscored the operational demands that large-scale litigation can place on service of process providers. While few firms will ever process litigation at the scale he described, firms of every size face similar pressure when statutes of limitations, court-ordered deadlines, or legislative changes compress filing timelines.
